A Century of United States Intervention created the Immigrant Caravan/Immigration crisis.

They are tired. Having walked thousands of miles leaving behind their families and culture in search for freedom and a better future. Their life has not been easy. Departing from their home countries of Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, these immigrants are escaping decades of gang violence, sex-trafficking, oppression, poverty, and persecution. Still, many seem them as invaders and dangerous. The sad reality of modern life is that people, especially privileged individuals, have become desensitized to the suffering of other humans. Its as if they believe their problems are of greater importance then that of millions of underprivileged people who live in poverty. The irony of the global situation we are facing is that the US singlehandedly created the Central American crisis we have today.

All three of these countries have seen an increase of people fleeing. According to the United Nations Refugee Agency, an estimated 388,000 fled the countries in 2016, with similar numbers continuing in 2017.
